Dear Prospective Parents

We understand that you are in the process of deciding on a secondary school placement for your child and I am delighted that you are considering Kingswood Secondary Academy. This is an exciting and important time.

Applications;

School places can now be applied for at North Northamptonshire Council (NNC). You will need to register using an email address. Click on the NNC link below to complete your application online.

You can also download a copy of ‘Applying for a Secondary School Place in Northamptonshire 2025/26’  from the NNC admissions website – this is the prospectus which contains information about all secondary schools in the county. 

Please read it carefully before making your application. 

 All applications for Year 7 admission in September 2025 will be dealt with by NNC.

You SHOULD NOT apply direct to the Kingswood Secondary Academy.

Closing date for applications 

The application deadline is midnight on 31st October 2025. 

Failure to get your application in on time will affect your chances of obtaining a place for your child at your preferred schools. 

Pupils with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) 

If your child has an EHCP, you do not need to apply to a school place using the process explained above. Instead, you will receive a letter from the EHC Team, seeking details of your school preference. 

Appeals

If a parent’s/carer’s application for a place at the Academy is unsuccessful, they have the right
of appeal to an Independent Appeals Panel.

Parents/carers should submit their appeal, in writing and giving their reasons for appeal, via the online form on the NNC website.  Please visit this Appeals website for more information about deadlines and to complete the form.
