Penyem, Gambia
During our fundraising for the Gambia, we contacted the Corby Rotary Club in the hope of them supporting our efforts. An application was made to the club by Andy Butler, Founder of the Northampton Trustee Fund, and David Tristram. The club then invited us to join one of its meetings to explain about the project.
On the evening of Thursday 19th April 2012, Bradley Read, Year 13, Rebecca Liquorish, Year 13, and Faye Austin, Head of Geography, visited the Rotary Club to give a presentation. The members thanked us for attended the meeting and enjoyed watching our video and looking at our photographs. We were delighted to hear at the end of evening that the club agreed to support us. The members very generously decided that they would match the amount that we had raised. We would like to sincerely thank the Rotary Club for its support. We are very grateful for this generous donation which will help to improve the conditions for the people of Penyem, who we know will be equally grateful.
