Parent Governor Vacancies
The Governing Body of the Kingswood School is inviting nominations for two new Parent Governors.
What do Governors do?
• Promote high standards
• Support the staff and Headteacher and act as a ‘critical friend’
• Set targets for pupil achievement
• Manage the school’s budget
• Ensure the proper curriculum is in place
• Build good relations between the school, parents and local community
At the Kingswood School the Governing Body meets once a month for ten months of the year. All Governors serve a term of four years, although they may resign at any time if they wish.
Please consider taking on this role or nominating someone who you feel will do it well. Our Parent Governors are very valuable members of our Governing Body and we rely on them to help us keep in touch with what parents are thinking.
Should more than two parents put their name forward to be a Parent Governor, then we would have to hold a ballot.
If you are interested in standing for election as a Parent Governor, or would like more information, please contact Jeanne Farrer, Clerk to the Governors, at the school. Nominations must be received by Thursday 17th November 2011.
